Tyler Blackwell, CLS and CMES alum, and UChicagoGRAD advisor, will present on the 2017 Critical Language Scholarship competition. This session is geared towards graduate students, but undergraduate students are welcome to attend as well. The deadline for summer 2017 CLS programs is November 16, 2016.
The Critical Language Scholarship Program is a fully-funded overseas summer language and cultural immersion program for American students. With the goal of broadening the base of Americans studying and mastering critical languages and building relationships between the people of the United States and other countries, CLS provides study opportunities to a diverse range of students from across the United States at every level of language learning.
The program offers overseas programs in the following languages:
- Azerbaijani, Bangla, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Punjabi, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu: Beginning, advanced beginning, intermediate and advanced levels;
- Arabic and Persian: Advanced beginning, intermediate and advanced levels;
- Chinese, Japanese, and Russian: Intermediate and advanced levels.
