Calling all Arabic learners, speakers, writers, and returners from experiences abroad!
Have you ever wanted to express yourself and felt like English wasn’t good enough? Do you enjoy writing in a foreign language? Are you passionate about joining a unique and growing Arabic-speaking community? Say no more!
We are Chicago Majalla, UChicago’s first and only magazine publication that’s fully in Arabic, and we are hoping you will join us! By combining written submissions and photos from a range of different Arabic levels and backgrounds, Majalla hopes to be a one-of-a-kind fixture in the Arabic community on campus. As the year unfolds, we’ll be expanding our presence with more cultural events, partnerships, and even chances to score extra credit with your Arabic teachers (not a joke)! We’ve got ambitious plans for what lies ahead, and we’re thrilled to hit the ground running and finally share some of it with you.
We are now accepting submissions for the Fall issue! If you have a piece of Arabic writing you’re proud of, or a collection of pictures from your trip to an Arabic-speaking country that you’d like to share, send ‘em on down to email@example.com! We’ll be in touch with you shortly to work with you through the whole process.
We’re also taking applications to be on our Editorial Board. If you are interested in working as a content, layout, social media, or managing editor for the magazine, let us know—we are constantly on the lookout for experienced applicants, and will be accepting applications here until October 23rd.
We’re so excited to make this magazine even bigger and better than ever, and we can’t wait to see where it goes this fall. We hope you’ll join us!
